About Will King
“I Shave Lives”
Born in Lowestoft, Suffolk Will’s early career took him into advertising sales & marketing. Following redundancy in the early 90’s recession, Will created the King of Shaves brand, and its first product, an oil you shaved with (filling 10,000 of them by hand along the way!)
Launched in Harrods in 1993, just £300 was sold! But, “shaving’s a growth business…” and in 2014, King of Shaves will celebrate it’s 21st anniversary, with more than six billion lives ‘shaved’ world-wide, and with products stocked by some of the world’s leading retailers in the UK, USA & many other countries. King of Shaves is the only brand to have products in all the major men’s grooming sectors, including shave preps, men’s skincare, razors & electrical grooming.
Will studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Portsmouth, and his favourite quotation is “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication”. Under his leadership, King of Shaves has been the stand-out innovator in men’s grooming products for over two decades, and he’s renowned for ‘zagging’ when his competitors ‘zig’. In 2014, following four years research and development, King of Shaves launched Hyperglide, a revolutionary new razor, designed to build on the success of the Azor.
Approximately one King of Shaves product is sold every 3 seconds somewhere in the world.
