About James Caan
James Caan is one of the UK’s most successful entrepreneurs. He made his fortune in the recruitment industry, which included the global success of his companies Alexander Mann Group and Humana International. In 2004 he founded private equity firm Hamilton Bradshaw. The company specialises in buyouts, venture capital and real estate, with a portfolio of over 40 companies.
James is best known for joining the panel of the BBC show Dragons’ Den, where he invested over £1m across 14 companies. He has also hosted The Business Class on CNBC, where he and various industry experts provided guidance to UK SMEs.
James supports many government initiatives and in May 2012 was appointed Chairman of Start-Up Loans, a scheme helping young people to start new businesses. Over £112 million of loans will be offered to 18-30 year olds over the next 3 years, and the scheme has currently backed over 2,000 businesses.
