The organisers of The Business Startup Show are very excited to again be working with the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) to bring you our 26th event. The FSB have the interests of small business people at their core. For decades, they have been at the forefront of providing advice and support to the UK's SMEs, as well as lobbying on their behalf. We would like to thank the FSB for their contribution as show partners toward making the 26th Business Startup Show our best event yet. Together, we hope to provide even more support, advice, information and inspiration to small and growing businesses than ever before. Long live the spirit of enterprise!
Come down to the FSB Village at the Show!
The FSB will have its very own 'Federation of Small Businesses Village' and stand showcasing the hard work of 'Real-Life Entrepreneurs' and the huge contribution small companies make to the economy. In addition to the exhibitions, back-to-back seminars will be held within the FSB Village, which will include contributions from high profile political speakers such as Anne-Marie Morris MP, Chair of the Micro-Business All-Party Parliamentary Group, Ian Murray MP of the Business, Innovations and Skills Select Committee, and Brian Binley MP, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Small Business Group. We will also be joined by Robert Hurley, International Trade Director at UK Trade and Investment, and Financial Times Columnist and co-author of the Beermat Entrepreneur, Mike Southon.
The seminars will offer entrepreneurs a unique opportunity to talk frankly about issues currently affecting their business with high profile politicians, including the Small Business Minister, and ask questions of politicians directly. If you are looking to access affordable finance, or would benefit from advice on exporting, then sessions with members of the BIS Select Committee and UKTI will also be invaluable. The FSB has been calling on Government to do more to help entrepreneurs as we know that it is the small business sector that will ultimately grow the economy - contributing £21 billion in added value each year already. This could be increased if Government made it easier for small businesses to access affordable finance, reduced unnecessary red tape and regulation, and made it easier for small businesses to flourish and grow.
